AIXisstenz
In the 6-month project AIXistenz funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, we conduct a feasibility study on the use of assistive interactive robotics in health, care, and assistance. The project is realized in cooperation with the Institute of Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics at RWTH Aachen University, or IAW. The contact at IAW is Dr. Alexander Mertens.
Using a primarily qualitative mix of methods, we determine needs, requirements and challenges in interdisciplinary collaboration between nursing science, psychology, ethics, computer science and mechanical engineering. The goal of the project is to analyze the feasibility and to apply for funding for a robotics competence center to test robotic systems in the application domain of health, care and assistance
